We had large photoshopped posters of teachers and admins as superheroes. They were a close knit group. Sometimes the school spirit was a little cheesy but it helped the school, sometimes it hindered. Schools do weird pinteresty things that other offices would not do.
As someone who has taught at a very spirited school and another that focused solely on academics (both low income schools), I can tell you that the students enjoyed school far more at the one where staff got fully into spirit days and pep rallies.
As a teacher I can tell you that you should feel lucky. When admin is apathetic and teachers unenthusiastic, that generally means morale is low — and kids pay the price. Admin in superhero costumes and tons of upbeat tweets is a very good sign your kids are learning in a happy place.
Your admin team sounds amazing, and your kids are lucky to have them. Sometimes they bring in fresh admin to breathe life into a stagnating campus. Be thankful. I think they are superheroes with or without the costumes. I follow upbeat schools on twitter and IG even if they aren't local to me because they inspire me to do better and be better.
I can tell my kids teachers and admin thinks they are among the best. No customes thought and It won't bother me if they did.To me its better they think and be among the best after all the money I'm paying for my mortgage and taxes. I think your complain will make more sense if they ask you to wear one.
