has your kid had any side effects to the h1n1 shot?

16 mo had H1N1 and regular preservative free flu shot Tuesday - ran a slight fever and was cranky yesterday, seems fine today

My 15 month old had no issues at all.

shot is not a live virus so there shouldn't be any side effects other than a sore arm possibly. chance that mist will have a bit of an effect since it's a live virus....doesn't sound like more than a day of very slight symptoms.

Brain death, growing little green tentacles, you name it.

my son threw up the same day....could be unrelated b/c he has been sick off and on all week. nausea is listed as one of the mild side effects.

My son also threw up a few hours after the shot. But then he slept through the night and had no vomiting today. It may have been a virus that he caught from the other kids in line. We had a three hour wait (in the rain) at the FFX clinic on Tuesday morning so entirely possible he picked it up from another kid and/or the weather.

You're mistaken. It's quite common for kids to run fevers after shots. And, as an adult, I had my first ever reaction to a flu shot and it was horrible- fever and chills for 24 hrs straight. Spoke with my OB (I'm pg) and he said the same thing happened to him this year. Reactions happen. Flu from the flu shot does not.

My DD and DS are experiencing the above side effect. It's really cute, though, so we aren't too alarmed....

My 22 mo old daughter had the shot last Tuesday (Oct 20), and we have not noticed any side effects. My husband also had the injection the day before and has been fine.

Boht of my kids got the vaccine at Wilson on Saturday. No side effects at the the time, but both woke up with burning fevers on Wednesday and were diagnosed with swine flu.

Does this mean they were infected before the vaccine. The CDC website says incubation is 1 -7 days.

Almost certainly. Probably also means they were contagious while at the clinic.

Did they get the mist or the shot?
