We use the alarms on our phones. Mine goes off earlier on weekdays, but I'm the lighter sleeper. If my spouse has an earlier flight, he usually sets the alarm but turns it off right away before it wakes anyone else.
If we get up before the alarm goes off, we grab the phone and leave the bedroom, so the alarm doesn't wake the other spouse. |
| Do you have kids? We both have to wake up at the same time every day because of kids. |
| Get ear plugs |
Wow OP, your DH sounds totally obnoxious. And honestly a bit stupid. I mean, saying that the only reason someone is waking up from an ALARM CLOCK is that they're a light sleeper? That's just dumb, sorry.
I'd kick him out of the bedroom - starting from tonight - until he can come up with a solution that a human with basic decency would consider acceptable. And I'd also put him on notice that if I *ever* have to get up to physically turn off his alarm because he was too inconsiderate to deal with it before he left the room then I would be promptly disposing of it. And then I'd do that. |
Good for you two. What does any of that have to do with OP? |

Phone alarms are easy to set for 6 days a week and they’re loud. Or it can be for 5 days and he can have Siri add the 6th if it’s not always the same day
The other one goes in the trash today |
| I'd set that alarm up in the guest room, and tell him he can sleep in there if he still wants to use it. |
| If it’s corded, cut the cord and that will teach him a lesson... |
| That’s annoying as crap. Throw away the loud alarm clock and force him to use something quieter. That or make him sleep on the couch until he decides to not be a selfish jerk. |
| I can’t even....Is he this selfish in other areas also? |
| It’s amazing that alarm clock still works. Or hasn’t gotten lost. Amazing. |
|
Annoying AF.
If it makes you feel better, OP, my DH ends up hitting the snooze button several times. Again, through the week, it’s not bad as I get up shortly after him, but he works on the weekends and I don’t, and I always end up being woken on the days he works. I don’t need an alarm as I wake up naturally at the same time, or I put my phone on vibrate and hear that beside me. |
| I often sleep in our guest room to avoid the sound of my DH’s alarm going off repeatedly after he hits snooze. |
| He’s being incredibly selfish. |
