| Why do blind items always say she actually has a serious drug problem rather than a transplant surgery? |
Yeah - really people your total stupidity is showing... |
| I HOPE she isn't using drugs. I have always liked her and have rooted for her. I actually liked her damn Disney Channel show. What a waste it would be to go through a transplant to save your life only to piss it away with drugs. |
Definitely this! BTDT with my own kid. I feel for her. |
They say the drug and alcohol abuse necessitated the transplant and that "Lupus" is a cover. |
I REALLY doubt this. She has been raising money for the Lupus Foundation. |

It's easy to confuse Lovato's blind items with Gomez's. Both are troubled but I believe Lovato is in worse shape. |
She had a kidney transplant, not a liver transplant. And her age is not unusual for someone with a disease as severe as lupus. It could very well kill her. |
Will she make it to her 30s? |
|
Didn't she just release a song that basically tells the world she still loves Bieber?
Young love/first love is hard for some girls. I have friends whose lives were basically wrecked by being dumped in HS/college. They literally never got over it. |
They are both Disney kids. Given Disney's track record with their teen and child stars, I bet it was something that happened while they were at Disney. |
|
I am naive to be fair, but I had NO IDEA she used/uses drugs. I thought all her problems were because of her lupus and kidney failure.
Is this for sure that she's a druggie? |
No, just gossip. She even stopped drinking any alcohol after the kidney transplant. She’s young and beautiful, but also very sick and her body is falling apart. It doesn’t help that her ex married and another woman is living the life she wanted with him. It’s almost too many losses to bear. |

It is like Ariana Grande and Mac. When someone already has health issues (physical, mental, addiction), the break up of a serious relationship can be literally heart breaking. It can be beyond their ability to cope. Seeing that person you loved with someone else withing a matter of days and engaged in both cases within a matter of weeks is devastating emotionally.
Depression with a chronic illness isn't uncommon at all. I also once read an article where Selena talked about how incredibly isolating and unhealthy touring was for her as you spend months on the road in a whirlwind of hotels, planes, cars, stadiums, and press junkets. It isn't uncommon for musicians to turn substances while touring. They have to find a way to be energetic, enigmatic, and entertaining for a few hours almost every day and then deal with the pressures and expectations of fans and promoters and tour managers. They have trouble sleeping as they have to come down off an adrenaline rush late at night and then be up in the morning for travel, media, rehearsals, sound checks, etc |
