What is the most cheapskate thing you have done?

Regifting, passing off gift bags, buying a kids' meal for yourself is cheapskate.

If it's any better the popcorn was overpriced (like $15) to start with.

I often buy a kids' meal for myself because that is the portion size I prefer. Adult portion sizes, particularly of pastas and burgers, can be grotesquely large.

I used to swipe Tylenol tablets from my parents when I was in grad school because I literally could not afford to buy a bottle.

My in-laws are the cheapest cheapskates and would only give plasticky dollar store crap to the grandkids for Christmas, so I started doing this with the cousins since they were all from that side of the family. Finally they (and indirectly me) were called out, so they stopped giving anything. They are loaded btw.

Sounds like my loaded parents, who love nothing more than to give me and my kids dollar store crap. Um, thanks?

This is why we can’t have nice things. There’s a difference between cheap and theft.

Came here to say just this. The worst part is, so many of these degenerates are *proud* of their actions.

I eat my way through Costco samples so I dont need to eat my own food/buy lunch. I bring the kids too.

What is wrong with regifting? and reusing gift bags? My DD got so many things she will never use for her bday, so i regift them. Obviously I only do it for kids that would like the gifts.

This. And why would you throw away a perfectly good, reusable gift bag? Strange.

Who doesn't reuse gift bags? Does that mean they throw them away?!

How is it stealing when Five Guys' has their cajun spices pre-packed in individual containers to take home? Same with the hotel stuff: the last place i stayed, they literally kept refilling toiletries that weren't even used or open.

I was thinking that, also. The worst part is, I know someone who would actually go in to a restaurant, claim they were an "expert"/in the business (they really are not), and literally report someone doing this. Pathetic.

Seriously! There are people who DON’T reuse gift bags? So wasteful.

Virtually all of my pens have hotel names on them. And most of my note pads.

Ha, I "gift" those to my kids. They love them.
