OP here. The reason why I am hesitant is that I am concerned about the risks to my baby. I am concerned about my well being but also about safety of my newborn. Do I get the vaccinate and definitely subject my newborn to unknown risks associated with the chemicals in the vaccine? or Do I not vaccinate and maybe subject my newborn to a potentially but not always harmful flu virus? This is a very tough call to make.
For me it was a pretty easy decision (I got the vaccine) by looking at the possible outcomes. If you don't vaccinate, worst case is you and/or newborn get a bad case of H1N1 and have life-threatening complications and possibly die. If you do vaccinate, you severely reduce the odds of that happening but there is a risk, most likely a small one, of potential, unknown but likely not life-threatening consequences. I'd rather chance possible side effects than possible death.
