Obama's eulogy to McCain is unequalled

When you are sharing stories of your experiences with another person, it is impossible to not talk about yourself.

Yes I thought about that, but there just seemed to be a lot of “I” in there. The lip smacking was a bit annoying too, is that new? I don’t remember that being a thing before.

But America is united: against Trump and the criminal GOP.

You don't even get the irony of this statement?

Apparently, Mrs. mcCain disagrees with you as President Obama is the only 9ne she stood, hugged, and thanked of former president's.

Mrs. McCain stood and hugged all who delivered eulogies, pay attention.

And guess who is surely watching? Cheeto might be able to view future events from his jail cell.

McCain and family: Stay away from the funeral! We don’t want you to taint the funeral with your foul presence!

This is a political funeral for the political class to talk about how great they all are. If you think them indulging each other is going to bring Americans together again I’d disagree.

This is the attitude that has created the mess we are in. There are lots of people in public service who are good, decent people who try their best to do good and devote their lives to serving a greater good. This is certainly true of most people in military service and is also true of most government employees and many of our political leaders.
Since 2008 we have seen an increase in the number of people who question the motivation and ethics of public servants and where has that led us - a new breed of self interested and corrupt politicians. They erode our faith in the institutions and norms that bind us and keep our country strong and unified. It is why we have so many venal people entering the federal government as political appointees who have no respect for their agency missions or for the people who have devoted their adult lives to serving this wonderful country

It was a great speech but, at times, seemed too much like a roast. Did anyone else think that? But he obviously knows him well and has a better idea than I do if what he would want. I could certainly picture McCain enjoying that speech and roasting him right back.

McCain certainly arranged his memorial services to send a message to this country. It was an act of genius, to be honest. Seeing the presidents and First Ladies sitting together, hearing speeches from Ds and R’s was poignant.

Ironically, the best speeches were given by the two people who I dislike the most. In order they were:

Kissinger
Lieberman
Bush
Obama

Yes. Everyone hates Trump. He is loathed by anyone with an IQ > 90.

Sure.

That’s your bubble take. Few people outside the bubble think politicians are some wonderful class of Americans that must be lauded for running up the deficit and using our tax dollars to pat themselves on the back. R or D.

Lol, what bubble am I supposed to be in? I don’t think politicians are some wonderful anything for the most part - Barack Obama really does stand apart.

And if you want to talk running up deficits and patting themselves on the back with our tax dollars, you’re talking about the GOP.

PP is the one in a bubble. A bubble of idiocracy.

A bit hyperbolic methinks. Would you say it's right up there with Pericles' Funeral Oration or Mark Anthony's funeral oration for Julius Ceasar ("Friends Romans, countrymen lend me your ears")?

Both Obama's and Bush's eulogies were well done.
