Man, they are really pushing this Jack Ryan program on Netflix

I agree OP. Every movie theater I go to keeps showing the dumb trailer for this. I don't think the actor is handsome at all. I agree with someone else who said he's dorky.

WHAT??
New poster, i didn't watch it either.

Same - I watched the British version so I couldn't get over the fact that the first few American episodes were almost exactly the same.

I think that’s supposed to be consistent with the character as Tom Clancy wrote him— a nerdy CIA analyst who gets pulled into operations.

It got a pretty "meh" review in the WP today.

I'm going to watch it because I'm a rower and he sculls on the Potomac in the show. Apparently he worked with folks from Potomac Boat Club for the filming - so I'm going to hang around for at least that part. Plus I like the idea of a dork morphing into an action hero. And Wendell Pierce is on the show. All good reasons to check it out. Whether I'll stay with it or not, I don't know.

Looks like all those ads aren't working that well. It is on Amazon.

Watched the first ep and enjoyed it. The lead actor is no Harrison Ford, but he's okay. I think fans of Homeland and The Looming Tower will like the show.

I'll watch it when they add Dwight to the show. he is always fully armed to kill.

Dwight is always ready for any eventuality.

Wow, I truly had no idea all of those movies are/were linked.

I didn't either! Especially Hunt for Red October - I had no idea that was a Jack Ryan story.

Third poster who has also never watched The Office. Was it on HBO? I don't have that channel.
I'm also Jewish and hated Seinfeld. That freaks a lot of non-jews out.

Absolutely! He is supposedly super super buff right now. A crazy transformation!
I hope it's a good show, I'm excited about it!

which is dumb. jack ryan the character was an analyst who went into the field - not a CIA-SAD paramilitary tier 1 operator type.

the best 'spy' protrayals on tv when it comes to men are lithe types, that wear spectacles, and have deep psychopathic issues.

The Office was on network TV (NBC I think?) but all seasons are now on Netflix. My daughter and I spent this summer watching it. Hilarious.

Being very tall isn’t good for a spy b/c they’d easily stand out. (It’s actually one reason Eric toth was caught. He wasn’t a spy obviously but as a 6’3” criminal he stood out.)

To the person who mentioned he’s dorky looking he is. But still appealing.
