I got my results this morning. 6 out of 7 embryos are normal !! Can't be happier !! Question: did they grade your embryo ? |
Of course you can ask! I just turned 36 and yes, I'm doing an ERA at the end of this month. |
Congratulations--that's a fantastic number! Yes, they graded my embryos before they were sent out for biopsy and the results were: 2 graded AA (both were day 6 expanding blasts) 1 graded AB (this one was a day 7 expanding blast) |

I am confused with ERA. Does it take one menstrual cycle to complete it or two? How many actual procedures are performed? When do you get results (I am with SGF)?
Thanks everyone! |
It takes one menstrual cycle to complete an ERA.Once you get your periods after your egg retrieval, you go in for your day 3 ultrasound and blood work. The nurse will then tell you to take estrogen tablets 3 times a day for around 20 days. On your 15th day of taking estrogen tablet you will then start with your progesterone injections (PIO) for 5 days. After 5 days of shots you go in for your ERA test. You can start your FET once you get ur periods after ERA. I go to shady grove too.I had my ERA done yesterday !! |
Thank you! How painful was it? |
| It was painful for a minute. I was fine after !! Don't worry it's quick. |
Is there any particular reason you (or anyone else who has done an ERA/knows about it) had this done when you did PGS testing and a FET? Haven’t heard about this before. |
We had nine frozen embryos that we defrosted for PGS. Out of nine, seven survived the thaw. Out of seven, four were normal. I was 41 at the time of collection. We had since used one of them to get our DC3. Now we have to decide what to do with the other three since we don't want any more children.

how old are you and did you do an ERA? |
| How much is PGS testing with Igenomix at Shady Grove? |
We had frozen embryos thawed, tested, and refrozen. I think it was around $4000 for the entire process, but that was over a year ago, and I'm not sure I'm remembering the total correctly. |
I paid $5000 for the PGS with the necessary lab work at Shady Grove. |

Congratulations OP!
I figured I'd offer another answer: 1) I believe it was 9-10 days 2) I'm 43. 3) I had two embryos- 1- 4AA; 1-4AB. The 4AA was normal. The 4AB was not. The 4AA was transferred 9/27. In the TWW right now with positive HPTs. Fingers crossed for good news at the beta. |

Great news!
My results took about 10 days. I was 40 at the time of retrieval and of the 8 tested, 5 came back normal. |
