| How long ago did she lose her husband? |
About four months... |
Did you see the actual movie or just watched the trailer only? |
You’re wrong and wrong again. You shouldn’t correct people when you really don’t know. |
There is really no magic amount of time. See how she is when you talk to her. Flirty if you flirt? The, yes she is ready. If you get a cold shoulder, dont ask her out no matter what the reason is. |
Not PP, but you are completely wrong. It's always fun to incorrectly call someone out. |
| Depends on what you want. First guy back in will be the transitional guy. He will have fun for a bit. Next guy will be more serious relationship. But the first guy should wait a month or so. Let the bereavement notices subside. |
|
Everyone that loses a spouse will be different. There is no universal timeframe to wait.
My bff is very high drive. She and her husband were married just shy of 20 yrs. They never went more than one or two days without sex in those 20 yrs. He passed away due to cancer 18 mo ago. She is craving sex but the idea of sleeping with someone other than her husband still feels like cheating on her husband. She is not ready to date yet and if you asked her out she would tell you she is not currently dating. |
| Four months is rather soon but she will let you know. As a single person, I like to give people that are divorced and widowed at least 2 years before dating them. Yes, some people are ready to partner sooner but it is not something I want to wait on as they work through their emotions. I don't like rushing people into relationships. I have dated both, so be ready to be patient. Even simple things like wearing clothes on a date that won't remind them of their marriage can be a stepping stone for them to experience. Using protection during sex, testing, etc. |
Yes, he was, Will was the one who taught them how to BE wedding crashers (the OG). Small part in the movie, but it most definitely was. Check IMDB if you want proof. |
| My best friends husband was dating three months after she died. I guess it just depends on the person. |
Awkward. Will Ferrell did have a cameo in Wedding Crashers. He played the guy who originally introduced Vince Vaughn's character to wedding crashing. After Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn fight, Owen Wilson goes to see Will Ferrell, who's new thing is crashing funerals. |
| 6 months. Ask gently. Widows usually take longer to grieve. Widowers move much faster, IME. incapable of living on their own. |
|
If your goal is to shag her on the first date, then I would wait a year. If you just want to go out for a drink or dinner and starting getting to know her slowly, then, she may be receptive.
I think I would need a year to date with the intention of being in a relationship, but going out casually, I might be ready before a year. |

My good friend became a widow in her late 20s. She was dating again 6 months later and engaged a yr after that.
It seemed fast but she had YEARS of grieving time while she took care of her young husband dying from unexpected cancer. There is really no way to tell from the outside what that widow/er is going through. Best thing to do is be sensitive but direct in your approach. "Hey, I realize this may be WAY too soon, but I really like you and would like to ask you out, if that's ok." |
