| I usually buy a new outfit for the first day of school, but otherwise I buy as things are needed, or when I see things on sale. It doesn't get cold around here until October, so there's no urgent reason to shop for fall stuff now. |
| Unique is having a $.99 T-shirt on 8/17. Value village may have the same. Take $15 and buy each one 4-5 shirts. |
+1 for Unique, they have awesome things for the whole family! |
| We don't do clothes but I always do new sneakers because theirs are always trashed after summer. |
|
I am doing new sneakers now (and school supplies).
My son is still wearing the same size he wore last winter, and will probably end up wearing shorts and tee-shirts until mid-October anyway. I will wait until later in the fall to buy clothes in the next size up, or maybe even hold off until Christmas. I am considering buying summer clothes in the next size up, for next summer, on clearance now. Boys are easier though. Especially ES-age boys. |
|
I have sold a few items on eBay recently to get some PayPal money to buy school stuff. Break even!
I'm also going to make DS use his allowance to buy whatever hot sneaker he thinks he needs this fall. |
|
My mom always took us and I did it out of habit until a couple of years ago. It’s been easier once I stopped stinger their preferences seem to change each school year.
We went to Marshall’s last week and DS bought sneakers. His feet grew a lot this summer and their prices are good. DD bought a backpack since hers was broken. They had a large assortment of many brands. |
This, I might buy a new shirt for the first day of school but my kid doesn't care. I buy in advanced/clearance so I almost always have what we need- sometimes I may need to buy shoes or something but I don't buy just because its back to school, I buy on need or don't have it already. |
I buy the next size or two or three depending on what it is. If its name brand athletic clothing I do as I know it willet worn and it lasts a few years. Only major thing that has changed for us is pants size and usually at some point in the fall we need a new set (usually I have it, not sure about this year though). |
Or, for $2-3 buy new and they don't look worn out. Then, sell them at a consignment sale. |
|
I buy on sale- we bought some winter clothes at Northface yesterday- 50% off.
I keep an eye on what seems to be popular clothing at his school and find it on sale or on consignment. He doesn't care as long as it's comfortable and he doesn't stand out. We've been through ups and downs with money- I really refuse to pay full price for any item of clothing except shoes or a good, everyday coat. |
This is the first year I'm not doing a school shopping. Even though my son has grown in height, he's still wearing the athletic Ts and shorts I bought LAST summer for school.
He does need new underwear and socks, so that's what he's getting. |
| Definitely. Just get things as and when needed. |
| We don’t do shopping until the weather changes. With the exception of shoes I’d assume your kids will be fine for a month or so at least |
Looks worn out? Thanks for the laugh!!
