OP, so glad things look encouraging. Yes, pregnancy can be so scary! Hope this encourages you--at 15 weeks I also out of the blue had the "someone turned on the faucet" bright red blood. It happened to me at the beginning of an 8 hour transatlantic flight, definitely no fun. Anyway, an ultrasound at the ER showed the baby and a heartbeat, and they said no obvious reason for the bleed. ER doc sent me home saying it was probably a m/c that hadn't completed. Next day my OB sent me for a repeat u/s because the original report she got from the ER wasn't very detailed. They missed that my placenta was very close to the cervix. I bled for about 5 days, like a period, there every time I wiped. Then it stopped and by the 20 week u/s, my placenta moved up and all was well. My baby is several months old now. I never would have believed I could have bled so much without miscarrying, but everything worked out!
