Tahoe Vacation Home

Sorry...South Lake Tahoe is NOKD...not mention the road in from 50 is hideous. I also hate Heavenly with kids....far too easy to lose them. Squaw or NorthStar for skiing. For lake activity prefer Tahoe City or Dollar Point (cheaper).

Definitely true, part of why South lake Tahoe was in the cards, but maybe we'll peak around North.

But no realtor recommendations?

Are you always this rude? You do know that people can visit a place many times, form an opinion about it, and have no idea about a realtor.

+1 I was thinking this as well...

Meyers in SLT is awesome...

Away from the gambling, quiet neighborhood, great hiking and biking trails. Easy access to Lake Tahoe, plus other mountain lakes in the area.

Best back country ski access in the Basin.

50 is not "hideous", I have been making this drive between the Bay Area and Tahoe for 20 years. Check out how often 80 completely shuts down in the winter!

Tell me about owning in Nevada; I associate it with LV and Reno so not sure how it is for long term?

LOL, Incline Village NV is nicknamed billionaire's beach. Go look at the prices and types of houses. Far larger and more expensive than the CA side. Its because of the tax differences not the actual areas/geography. CAs and tech millionaires will buy in Nevada to park money for retirement. CA is also more likely to impose restrictions on development and rental units so long term NV is probably a better bet.
