| Despite all the traffic and years of concerts there's only 1 stuiped exit. With a big show like Imagine Dragons, give yourself 2 hrs get home. |
| Show up on time. Concerts start on time now. If they say ID go on at 8:15pm, they will. |
| I don’t this sweatshirts will be necessary as suggested up thread. |
I don’t *think so either. |
New Poster here, I live within a couple miles of JLL. There are a ton of places to eat in Virginia Gateway Center, which the road (Wellington) from JLL. http://www.vagateway.com/stores. All the typical chains of fast casual--Chick Fil A, Panera, Cava, Chipotle, Five Guys, etc. Plus across the street (Linton Hall) is a Burger King, Taco Bell, and KFC. If you're looking for something with table service there is a BJs, Firebirds, and a few others. My recommendation would be Pizza NY Margarita or Mission BBQ. |
This is very helpful. Thanks! |
Given what a shitshow the parking lot is there, I'm surprised there hasn't been a serious rage incident over this practice. |
| ^^or, just buy a premium parking pass. |
They have a lot of staff at exit time and its heavily controlled. I don't get the PP drama. You bring food and water and if you are concerned about a child, you just go buy water. You are allowed to bring water in. They say no food but I brought food for my child/no issue (we also bought ice cream). |

Op, even though the passes sold out online, you can almost always buy them at the venue as you go in. Just tell the attendant showing you where to park that you want to purchase premiere parking (what they call VIP). Just know that when purchased from a parking attendant, it's cash only and $35 or $40.
I've been to plenty of shows that show the parking is sold out online and I've never had an issue buying there. Your husband can drop you guys off but won't be able to get back in to pick up for a bit as they flip the roads. I want to say there's a waiting pull off area that I always see the minivan moms in waiting for the teens to walk out. That seems super dangerous IMO when you factor in the dark, alcohol the drivers have been drinking, and overall bad attitude of the drivers after having sat in traffic. |
I think they are referring to the flood that happened a couple weeks ago, where a bunch of people lost their cars to high water. Also, sometimes it does take way too long for drivers to exit. It seems the parking staff leaves during the show! |
What always pisses me off about JLL is how they move the lawn seating people down to fill the empty 100 & 200 section spots to make the venue look full for the acts. Anytime I've had 300 section tickets, I've never once got moved down. Not even when I asked on my own if I could move down with the lawn people they were moving. It definitely taught me to buy cheap lawn seats for shows I know won't sell out since the chance of getting moved to great seats is pretty high. So far, my plan hasn't failed. |
| Regarding the parking: it looks like VIP and premier are different lots, one in front and one behind the venue. Assuming you had access to either (I’m looking for a concert in August) is one preferred over the other? |
The VIP lot is backstage. We’ve see band members leave from there. |
| Just saw this tweet to Capital Weather Gang: At least you’re not going to a concert at Jiffy Lube tonight. |
