Is it hard to get a LAX scholarship?

Either way so much better than the fraternity or sorority system!

She already has the grades but these days you need more than that. She plans to play at a NESCAC school like Williams and we can afford to send her there. She also loves being part of a team and that makes for a great college (and high school) experience.

Exact same with our daughter.

+1
Same with my daughter. She’s at a k-12 where it almost seems like luck of the draw for who gets into NESCAC schools bc almost all applicants are well qualified. She loves being on a team and playing lacrosse so hopes it helps get her in and gives her 4 more years on a competitive team. Her backup is playing club somewhere, but she loves serious competition and doesn’t want it to end with hs.

Ivies have lost their shine. Overpriced progressive indoctrination centers. Head south.

They also never award full scholarships because they split the money so they can give some to more kids - there are often 30+ kids on a college team. As stated already, many use it to get in to an academic school, often a D3 SLAC. Some schools will combine merit to give a bigger package but it's typically no where close to full scholarship.

Its also very commonly used to help get in to one of the Ivies. Tons of kids around here go on to play lacrosse at Ivy League schools.

There are no athletic scholarships in the Ivy League.

This is wildly inaccurate. Way more D1 programs then that

Yeah, that would absolutely suck to be part of healthy and active group training and studying together with many like minded people all while traveling to different parts of the country and having different service, athletic and academic experiences. Much rather sit around a dorm room playing video games and sucking on bongs while trying to fill my time with some weird campus group.

DP. The judgmental, elitist nature of this post is so off-putting.

So our kids’ choices are lacrosse or video games/bongs with “weird” kids?

Guess you have me wondering: are the parents of those “weird” kids kinder and more accepting? Because if so, sign me up.

Ivy admin rates contradict this view. Progressive thought pervades every college campus (except for Liberty). Ivies are just lightening rods for national news. Protests and sit ins happened at Duke, Vandy, Clemson, Florida too. Look it up
