Actually no, both the 2nd and third brackets are set up as playoffs. Now of course, winning those brackets (and there is a winner) is not as prestigious as winning the overall title, but it is still a playoff.
Again, if you read the original post, you'd see that it says what round the teams in the lower brackets lost in, which wouldn't be applicable if it was just a showcase. |

Not the OP - I don't think it is structure purely a showcase, but since these arbitrary brackets were invented to make sure that virtually every team U15 - U17 get to go and play 3 games, it might as well be. This is just a way of justifying it. And the ECNL is clever in marketing. They could sell you sewage and convince you that's high end composte. People just need to see it for what it is. The post is from 2018. There was no boys ECNL in 2018 so ECNL means girls. Why are you digging up a post from almost a decade ago? |
