| No, but suburban nursery schools will. |
| Just got off the waitlist for 2nd OOB. |
| The cohort for rising 2nd graders is small so I figure they will take a few more in addition to PP above. I doubt they will take many (or any) for rising 1st as the classes are already big. Rising 4th is the other large cohort in the school. |
No - the offers do not match the number of slots they are filling, so the information about the #s on the wait list are relatively useless for anything beyond knowing the status of the waitlist. It could be for 1 slot, 5 slots, 20 slots, etc. |
Welcome - it is a nice cohort of kids and families. |
Probably not going to take it, but thanks. |
| Ouch! |
You are giving hope to others! |
Hope to WL #3 for 2nd grade! |

What the heck ever happened with kids from low performing schools getting preference on the waitlists? Curious if the people posting on here claiming to be at the top of the list are applying from low performing schools?
I went through the Janney directory this year and almost none of the OOB kids this year are from poorer parts of DC - if we are going to have a jam packed school it ought to be to further some broader goals instead of enabling upper middle class parents to save on their mortgages. |
Hasn't taken it yet because my teen # hasn't budged. |
Not sure that has ever been a thing. |
No, we haven't declined or accepted yet but we were no. 2. |
It was definitely the announced policy 3 years ago and should be the policy IMHO - crazy to cram more upper middle class kids in Janney when there are lower income kids who would more benefit from the access. |
Really? Then they have made at least 2 concomitant offers to #1 and #2, and neither of you has accepted or declined yet. Even more hope! |
