I would want to know, even if I kept my child there anyway for lack of a better option. |

My kids go to a charter and I don’t turn a blind eye to administration or other changes/concerns. That’s a gross generalization.
I think with so many schools and little control (without lots of $ to buy in certain neighborhoods or go private) of where your kid gets to go, parents often develop a ton of insecurity about where our kids go to school. So, many parents (traditional public or charter) become ardent champions of their school and/or critics of others to help them feel better. |
I’d rather ask current parents, half of whom refused to donate to the school this year, what they think. And I wouldn’t call a 100 million dollar lawsuit a success story. |

And if you think that's bad? You should see the horror movie that is DCPS! Maybe 25% are on track to graduate? |
|
DCPS is a goat rodeo.
Why challenge that depth of incompetence. |
I agree with this. There is not A single dcps i would consider. That said my charter needs improvement. |
I've seen this. It's worse on here than IRL, but it exists IRL to some degree too. |
I’m a current parent and I’m very happy. As are many many other parents. |
|
My DCPS principal is great. Transparency and open about what is going on at the school. There are no charter schools I'd even consider.
Wilson is an idiot but not nearly as impactful as our principal. |
Many current parents are very happy with the quality of the teaching and the curriculum. But the administration is beyond terrible. |
This. I love our DCPS principal. The school has a long way to go but she is on the right track. I'd send DS to a DCI feeder or Inspired Teaching, but other than that, meh. |
Good for you. Glad you like your dcps. I wouldn’t touch a single one with a ten foot pole, but that only means a slightly less overcrowded school for you!! |
