Tried that. The team manager wouldn’t convey the correct info. Sabotage. And, frankly, some personal issues—deaths, ill parent etc- were none of the manager’s business. He’s just another parent. Some get a power trip. |
wow!!!! can you say power trip? as a parent my conversations with the person who is coaching my child has ZERO to do with you !!!! Im actually paying for his services not yours!! Team snap makes your job easy as long as you stay on top of it ... If I can't have Direct contact with the coach im paying for we are gonna have a problem. Ive seen managers who are so late adding team events it screws the team then they blame it on the coach saying I was told not release it yet Total BS . actually Team snap eliminates that part of a managers role have the club set the schedule and the coach can verify who is there. manager just show at games with players cards and sit and watch the game!!! |
As a 2nd year team manager, I 100% agree on your speaking with the coach. If you want to talk to the coach, go right ahead. Your business with the coach is your business. All I ask for is that you mark yes/no/maybe on teamsnap and show up on time. As for late events (or cancellations), that is where I dont agree. I add events as soon as I am asked. 99% of the time they are added well in advance, and everyone has plenty of time to plan. Other times events are added on short notice, and you have to decide if you can attend with little lead time. |
Prior to tryouts at FPYC this year, the club emailed out "program summaries" for two ages stating that this one coach would be the head coach even though they knew he was leaving for a new club at the end of the season. Talk about bait and switch. |

Doesnt fpyc only have a few travel teams
Total? |
| We have been only with small clubs because we craved stability in coaching. It’s worked out well for us but we do expose DC to other coaches via small group and private trainings so he gets different perspectives and develop the ability to learn from all types of coaches. |

Document it all then sue for breach of contract, assuming they told you who your coaching staff was going to be in the offer.
I know a volleyball who did this and won. She was so p’ed by the end of the season she demanded a full refund, they declined. She sued, won and told everyone she knew about it to spread the word of warning. |

1. Soccer coaches are good at coaching, not usually admin/organization skills, which is why they need a team manager
2. The only way your club is getting rich off fees is if you are on one of their revenue teams (I will be generous and say anything beyond 3rd team, although probably anything beyond 2nd team) 3. Add up all the costs (renting fields, paying coaches, paying league fees, paying tournament fees, paying referees, paying coaches and assistant coaches), and you might realize the fees really aren't so bad |
this happened 3 of my kid's 4 years at loudoun. we moved. |
