People are so stupid, wake up and stop making everyone a troll. ‘‘Tis is what people having been doing in DCPS forever. I love in DC but grew up in Prince George’s county and my parents put me in DCPS. I went to Stevens ES when it was not connected to Francis Middle School and it was on 19th & L street NW. My parents worked near K street, it was convienent for them.

I actually have a friend who is moving her A student from Banneker to Roosevelt for her senior year in order to be #1/2 in her class; too much competition at Banneker.

Nobody cared than and there was not a lot of demand. Very different time now. The political pressure will mount and it will get fixed. Not advisable to try it...everybody reporting potential fraud. Rd

OP, rent a small apartment inbounds for Wilson for a few years. Live there for the next three years and when DC graduates, you're good to go back to your family land.

Why should people be uncomfortable in a cramped small apartment?

I've no idea. We are very comfortable in a small apartment. You just have to keep your things straight and not accumulate too much stuff.

While it’s true Alexandria schools are on par with Wilson and Duke Ellington and maybe School without walls DD would have to compete too much with VA students. Since the bar is pretty low in dcps and the FARMS rate pretty high, when DD graduates in two years she will eligible for scholarships from top schools because she’d possibly fall under the overcoming a hardship category. I’m doing what I can to provide my child with advantages. Just like the other 49% of MD/VA families with their kids enrolled in DCPS. DC isn’t going to do anything about it because each student is a body counted toward their bloated federal funding budget for education.

Lol! Omg, try again.

They shouldn't: don't live in one!

Seriously, this isn't Tokyo. Don't live in a space so small that your neighbors (much less your children) can hear you enjoying sex with your spouse.

Like almost half, by some estimates. Ward 9 gets preference over MoCo or Va., however.

Perhaps meant as a joke, but this person wants real information. If some kids at Ellington are residency frauds, they were masquerading as DC kids, they did not get in as MD or VA kids. So no, Ellington does not "take" a lot of out of state people. They have an agreement for 10%, which would be about 50, but there are currently 46, which would only give them 4 slots plus whatever number just graduated.
