It's worth it.

NP. Did you have surgery or just a special diet? I am your age and need to lose 80 pounds for knee surgery. Counting calories and points did not help me.

DH has lost 50 pounds over the last 6-8 months. Not much "hanging" skin though his skin is not as taught as it would be if he hadn't been 50 pounds heavier and he does still have stretch marks.

I lost 60 lbs in my early 20s, and then gained 45 lbs in my 30s with each of 3 pregnancies. Lost it each time. I am now 40.

I have loose skin on my inner thighs, upper arms, and waist/hips. Standing up I look fine, although each time I lost weight, it took about 1 year for the skin to "tighten up" again. Even then, I have some loose skin hang if my arms/legs are at a certain angle. It is only embarrassing when it is my tummy/hips area. In a perfect world, my skin would tighten more, but I am not going to get surgery for this. It does mean that I have to stay really in shape, because even a small amount of weight gain makes those areas look really flabby.
