| We drop off at 630-645. It’s ok OP! By the way, our daycare is already packed at that time. (They open at 6). |
| DO what you have to do, but don't let her stay there later than 4. Anything longer is not fair to your dc. |
|
| I dropped off at 7am for 9 years. |
|
We drop off shortly after 7 and then pick up at about 3:45.
I work in child care and definitely feel sorry for the children who are there from open until close, but you gotta do what you gotta do. The ones I really feel sorry for are those who don't HAVE to be there that long but are. |
| We normally drop off at 8:30 or so and pick up at 4:45 or 5. Our daycare is open from 7-6. Once in awhile we might have to do a 7:30 dropoff. Do what you need to do and don’t let them guilt you! |

I would be a bit concerned about sleep. If you have to wake her up to take her, then she isn't getting enough sleep.
Hopefully you can pick her up early. Obviously if you have to work long hours to survive then sleep or time with her is less important than survival. Many kids have been raised almost entirely by nannies / daycare and gone on to be healthy happy adults. |

We drop both our kids off between 7 and 7:30. Often they are the first ones there, but not always. We pick up between 4 and 4:30pm. Occasionally a little later, depending. But we try to have them in care 9 hours or less, but sometimes we have 10 hour days. It's just how it is.

Do you need to drop her off at 7? |
|
OP here.
If I leave home for work at 6:45am, DH does the dropoff between 7am-7:15am, and I can come pick her up between 4:45-5pm, and DH can get home around 6:30pm. If I am the one doing the dropoff at 7am, I won't be able to pick her up till 5:30-5:45pm. Yeah, our work commute sucks, and daycare is in the opposite direction of traffic. Yes, DD has to be dropped off at 7am. |

Can you give an example? Like, are the parents out seeing the sights and leaving the kids there? |
Those hours don't seem at all unreasonable based on the kids I see at our daycare. 7-5 is pretty common based on the sign-in sheets at ours. How many kids are there will depend greatly on the schedules of the other families in your room at that time. We've been in a room where the kids were mostly early to arrive, early to leave (I was nearly the last one at 4:30) and also in a room where we were early arrivers at 8 and early leavers at 4:30. All of that has happened in just over a year of attending since kids move through the rooms at a staggered time frame and family schedules can change. |
Roll your eyes all you want...it is unfair to your kid and everyone knows it. |
