We will mostly be doing mountain camping but thought I might take a chance for a Gulf Coast beach stop. It appears the campground is located in some trees with shade right next to beach but you've all definitely given me some pause!

Horse flies
Sand fleas
Mosquitos
Heat. Endless heat. Like so hot you’re worried about your kids hot.
Heat stroke!
Sweating in an airless tent while realizing you’ve also trapped in several mosquitos!
Fire ants.

Just no. No no no no.

Unless you bathe in deet you will leave some part exposed. And you will be bit mercilessly. Also not mentioned above but butt crack sand.

OP here! Bahahaha. Thanks for a good laugh and good warnings! You have truly created a picture!

Get a hotel. Seriously. Our society has advanced beyond sleeping in tent and there is a good reason for that

Please get off the thread. Many people enjoy camping. And my alternative involves camping in a completely different location or possibly an Air BNB, which we also enjoy. But thanks for your oh so unique "hotel" suggestion.
