Parents take 30 year old son to court to evict him from their house

My first thought as well.

This is what happens when you don’t tell your children no and raise them to expect a trophy just for participating.

Without a doubt NOTHING should/would go to that dead beat. He is an entitled pr!ck. My bet is that he is an only, and is taking his "expectations" too far. PP here.

WTH with the "only" bashing?? Whether he was or wasn't, this went way deeper than that.

PP here. Only mentioned "only" in the context that he might happen to be an only, but happens to also be entitled - so basically, he is waiting for his parents to die, so he can have the house. Not sure if he is an only. Didn't mean to offend, I have known one or two onlies (sp?) that have admitted this to me - I was not close to them.

I definitely think they should consider selling and moving without telling where they are going. My middle brother had to be evicted from my dad’s. My dad was shocked some months later to come home after a trip to find my brother in his new place. My brother looks like a younger version of my dad so he had no trouble talking the neighbor entrusted with the key into letting him in so he could “water the plants”.

Yeah, no keys for any neighbor.

How did he obtain his weapons? Did his parents buy them for him?

Such a strong libertarian that he can’t get a job because he would lose his free legal services.

Like my brother who is has free healthcare for life from the VA and is always posting on FB about how taxation is theft.

I don’t understand this situation. How can the parents not simply change the locks and put his stuff out on the curb? Is his name on the deed or something?

It’s explained in some of the reporting - I didn’t read the article OP linked but read about this elsewhere a couple of days ago. If the person you’re evicting is a family member you need a judge to sign off on it.

Found what I read earlier - “In April, the couple went to Camillus town court to try to evict their son. But they were told that it required a Supreme Court justice to remove a family member.“

If he has health care from the VA it's because he served in the military, not exactly a free ride.

But it’s people's taxes that fund the military and veterans’ healthcare.

Exactly. And if taxes were cut, the VA's bloated budget would be cut as well.

In addition to healthcare, many veterans receive pensions and disability benefits and education benefits and additional other benefits. That's fine if it's necessary. I know several veterans who have 100% disability ratings, yet they have no apparent injury and somehow manage demanding professional careers with big six figure salaries. They're all republicans btw who are quick to judge people on public benefits. The lack of self awareness is befuddling.

My brother was exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam but through VA tuition benefits earned a BS, MBA and became CFO of a large company. He developed multiple myeloma and then a few years later, leukemia, from the drugs use to treat multiple myeloma. He put himself through two drug trials at Hopkins and is alive and relatively well. At Hopkins he was told he could receive VA disability benefits for his exposure to Agent Orange. He donates the benefits to a group supporting families of service members killed in the Middle East.

He is a Republican who volunteered to serve in an unpopular war, has saved many lives by becoming a human experiment at Hopkins, and donates his disability benefits plus countless other funds to Veterans service groups. On his behalf and as a registered Democrat, STFU, PP
