I would assume that she has been targeted or assaulted. Contact a psychologist who specializes in this.

My son has aspergers, and it was only at 13 that he started refusing to be hugged. Before that it wasn't an issue. Read a description, see if that could fit? Many girls go undiagnosed.

My DD went through this when she was about 12 or 13. It was a phase. She got over it.

She's 15 and I don't know if she likes hugs but she associates them with love and clearly likes feeling that I love her and hugs are one of the ways I show it.
