Selective Reduction

Anonymous
Liza Mundy had a good article about this in the Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/05/15/AR2007051501730.html). OP, I'm not sure if reading this would be helpful to you or too painful - but the MD she follows for two days as he does selective reduction procedures is Mark Evans in NYC. My thoughts are with you...

OP, I am sorry I don't have anything helpful to add, except to offer my support in a difficult time for you and your family. Any debate on your thread that makes the process more difficult for you should move to another thread. Best of luck and good outcomes to you.

OP I understand how difficult you situation is, I had a reduction from 6 (equal size sacs at 10 wks) down to twins at Thomas Jefferson in Phila. I was a very well informed IUI patient who worked in the infertility field and I have not shared my story with many people. It was a complete shock when it was discovered that I had 6 babies and if I hadn't reduced the pregnancy I would not have the two helathy kids I have today. Despite reducing the pregnancy to twins I was still unable to carry the pregnacy to term and my two babies spent 2 wks in the NICU. They are healthy but my DD has a significant hearing impairment and my DS has ADHD (probably heredity), what would the outcome have been if I tried to carry all 6??? I probably would have lost the whole pregnancy, and I certainly would not have had a reality TV show!
I don't know you but I wish you the best and unless you have been in this situation you have no idea what you are talking about so be kind with your advice...no one sets out to have to deal with this circumstance.
