How often do you replace your iPhone?

Wasteful. Anyone replace their battery and keep their phones longer?

Apple is offering discounted ($29) battery replacements for 2018. Got mine replaced a couple months ago. I have a 6.

Once this battery gives out, I think I'm going back to dumb phones. Smart phones just aren't worth the money and hassle for me anymore.

I got the 6s Plus. With a new battery, I'm going to keep it for another 2 years, so total 4 years.

45% every two years

I can't even imagine keeping a phone for 5 years, I don't even keep my cars for 5 years

We've had our car 15 years and still think of it as our new car. If you buy good quality and take care of things, they last.

You both made me LOL. Thanks for brightening my weekend.

I first clicked on this thread because I thought, "Why would people just replace a phone if it still works?" Just replaced the 16YO car, which outlasted the previous one by a few years. Oh, and iPhone is just a few months old, but glad to know I can buy a battery now for $29.

Yep - same for me.

Yikes!!

Did you guys see that video in Vega$ where a guy was repairing an iPhone screen in a shop & the darn thing started a real fire??!

Happened over the weekend.

Guess the battery overheated.
I have a 6 + have been noticing lately that at times, my phone feels warm/hot to the touch.

Now am worried I will get burned.....

I have a 6 that I’ve had for over three years. It still works great, no issues with the battery.

So far I've only had one (knock wood). We're at 3.5 years. I hope it keeps going. I don't really want the one where you log in with your face.

Every 20-28 months or so. I bought an iPhone 7 when it first came out, so Fall of 2016 or thereabouts, and I’ll probably replace it this coming fall. I love having new tech. But I’m not sold on the edge to edge displays ... I like having the home button. So I’m hoping to snag an iPhone 8 after the new iPhones are announced and maybe it will come down in price a little.

Just upgraded my 5s after 4.5 years.

You think of a 15 year old car as new?

I got my 7 in December 2016 and just this week it has started to act weird. Battery seems fine. Screen is cracked in probably 8 places. I’m still going to keep this one for as long as I can. Last one was a 4 and I had it 3 years.

I still have my first 6s from September 2015. I wish it had more storage space, but it still runs fine so I can't justify replacing it. My husband gets a new one through work every 18 months.

I keep them until they break. Just replaced my 2014 phone this year.
