The fact she hasn't been there since she got arrested is all you need to know. She won't be back. The school should be keeping parents in touch.

Like the teacher who pulled off the student's hijab?

Stupid comparison. That teacher only pulled back a hoodie and inadvertently removed a hijab. Not at all analogous to larceny.

Maybe she accidentally stole from Target

I'm just more annoyed that my son found out from friends and other parents are looking up her parents report. Ms. Gros had never even said a peep to the parents. We have IB exams and the teacher isn't here and the principal can't even notify parents. It's been over a week without an IB teacher.

You would think if a teacher is arrested and missing class for a prolonged period something should be said to the parents. I'm really surprised FCPS is letting parents find out from police reports and their kids instead from the administration.

I don't think the school can legally do anything if it's only a misdemeanor.

I've almost walked out with redbull without paying. Put all my crap in a baby stroller somewhere and forgot to ring it. Luckily I discovered it when putting my crap back to stroller. Left it somewhere on a shelf.
I'd hire her as a tutor if she is that good. I remember all my good teachers.

She is 24 with no kids. I doubt she just walked out. I would let her tutor, but not at my house and obviously not at Target.

+1 One would expect better lines of communication between parents/students and FCPS. This is also a moral issue.

Another Stuart parent again just finding out about this. I emailed Ms. Gros this morning and have not heard anything back. I'm ticked finding out like this. I guess they pulled a teacher who team teaches out to teach this class. Doesn't that mean she team taught class only has one teacher now. FCPS really needs to notify parents of these issues.

So, first we have Ms. Tochterman of HWES get busted for shoplifting at Target and now we have another FCPS employee get busted for shoplifting AT TARGET? This is nuts. Tocheterman made it past her first hearing but her hearing for her felony charge has not been held yet. I know for a fact that this matter was discussed by staff at all area schools so why in the world would Ms. Kerrigan follow in the footsteps of Tochterman?

Do they really have to discuss shoplifting with teachers?

Still no word from Ms. Gros or FCPS on why my daughters teacher is gone even though every one knows. I hope they are looking for a qualified replacement and not a bunch of random subs. I bet SOLs scores will be going down this year.

Seriously? SOLs are right around the corner, and the teacher was there for the vast majority of the year.

Yes now is important. Schools are doing nothing but review work now. Hard to review with no teacher and random subs. My kid said there was another random subs. Still no word from FCPS or Ms. Gros on the situation. Complete lack of communication.
