Does your gym childcare worker change babies' diapers?

Anonymous
No way. 24 hour fitness, they page you to change diapers. I would not be comfortable with them changing the diapers.

NP here. What a non-answer. "It is probably..." LOL

You can suggest OP do her own licensing research but there's no need to ask her "what do you not understand." Do you speak to people this way in person?

Really? How so? This is OP and I am not sure what you mean (not being snarky). Thanks.

Wow. Why so bitchy?

I think in VA, it's a licensing issue. I've taken my daughter to most of the Gold's gyms in the area and none change diapers. They page you or come find you for a diaper change.

The licensing issue is this: the people who the gym puts in charge of watching your child are not to EVER touch a child that way. It may seem odd because if a diaper needs to be changed, just do it right? But in this day and age, everyone is covering their ass and all licensed caregivers are required to complete state mandated training in this area. Like a preschool teacher would. They also need to show they have running water to wash hands, a changing table, use gloves, never apply diaper cream, oh and a locked garbage for dirty diapers. For those $8/hr sitters they have at the gym, there is no way the gym is paying for that kind of training, especially because they don’t stay on long as employees.

No. Casual care workers like this are not licensed. Even preschool teachers aren't- only daycares. But seriously, why would you even want them to? I don't need some stranger who works for $8 at the Golds Gym childcare room going anywhere near my young child's genitals. Get your ass out of the sauna and go change the diaper.

But you allow that stranger to take care of your child for $8 an hour. You sound very disrespectful of childcare workers. The majority are women like yourself.

Yeah sounds like weird regulatory thing. Same thing with the Y I used to be a member of in VA.

No. My DD is a supervisor in the Kids Academy at Lifetime fitness in VA (STERLING) and they are not allowed to diapers.

It’s this exactly. Technically they are not supposed to. If they are I hope you are tipping well. They are also a good source for date night sitters.
