| This would be for local election only, right? |
| Another reason why DC will never become a state. |
| I think 18 is a good age to represent becoming an adult. If we want to change it to 16, that’s ok I guess. But I doubt DC will want to treat violent 16 year old criminals as adults. |

Why 16?
Why not 12? Or maybe 10? Why do people think it's ok to discriminate against some children, but not others? If you can read, you should be able to vote. Why not? |
| I think 16 yr olds should vote. I do not think they should drive. |

+1 |
Obviously |
Cities in MD do it. MD is a state. |
Some countries allow 16-year-olds to vote, sometimes in municipal/local/state elections, sometimes in national elections. |
| I don't support it because then DC politicians would begin paying for proms, celebrities to come to schools and all sorts of foolishness to entice teens whose brains are that developed at 16. Technically, I wish the voting age were 21 again |
|
Sure. Why not?
|
| Hell no. They should raise the voting age to 30. |
| Support. My kid (16) and her friends know far more about government and current affairs than the average American. And no, despite her parents being progressive on every political issue, she is more of a centrist except on guns, gay rights, etc., where we are in full agreement. The vast majority of high schoolers will not get it together to register and vote. Those who do will be fairly well-informed on the issues. |
