Realtor personality

Well I didn't mean to be rude to the realtor but today after seeing two houses he was about to go down the chatty path and discuss all the features with the realtor before we had even discussed any of it. I shut it down and said, " We can discuss it later and make our decision". Am I wrong here? We are seeing these homes and then the personal comparing and decision making process should be between the 2 of us! He wants to chat about it with the realtor before we have even had an opportunity !

Now you sound nutty. It's perfectly reasonable to talk about the house with the realtor. If the kids are that much of a distraction during the house tours that you can't participate in the conversation between your spouse and the realtor, get a sitter.

You should be glad that your husband is engaging in the process!

+1

Seriously, what's the harm. Is this a control issue? This could backfire on you.

One of my favorite Penthouse Forum stories had to do with a realtor who went the extra mile to close a deal.

Shut him down??? Haha that’s going to work out for you how?
My DH can be chatty with other ladies including babysitters. I notice it and think of it as a good reminder that men like to flirt, try being flirty and he might spend some of his energy on you and not other women.

Clearly the realtor has zeroed in on this fact. As the wife with little ones, I don't really appreciate it.

I didn't realize when buying a home for the first time, I would have to "reign in" my antisocial husband. Oh well, we'll get through.

Let him know there are youporn channels solely dedicated to this.

My DW and I played out this fantasy right after closing. She gave a tour and pointed out the “benefit” and “features” of each room while mentioning how to best “position” the furniture in each room.

I hope she was wearing a tight but classy skirt and some heels while she was giving the tour.

Our realtor was a dumbass. We had to correct errors at every step. By the time the deal closed she had slashed her fee in half so we didn’t walk.

I think most are eternal optimistic who want a deal no matter what. Does your dh usually know when he’s havin his ego striker?

She was, the shirt came off in when we got to the huge round foyer table.

This. Currently house shopping with my wife. Our realtor is my mom’s age but quite cute. She is very confident in what she knows and easy to talk to. I find myself being very flirty with her. Full disclosure, I may have imagined a midday trip to a new house while my wife is in meetings that gets out of hand.

Not that I would ever act on it but the new unrelated female attention is fun. Let him enjoy it. Don’t stress about it.

So, from the male comments, it sounds like the DWs have some cause to be concerned and jealous about female realtors.

OP here. So we just put our bid on our second house and I basically had to flip the switch and take over communicating with her. What I noticed is that having an attractive, flirty realtor strangely turned my antisocial DH into a chatty and grinning from ear to ear guy. I can't believe he fell for everything she was doing to get the sale. Everytime he would say something the realtor would laugh hysterically at everything he was saying, every question he asked she would easily chat his ear off and conversely he would talk with her like she was his old best friend after meeting her for the first time!

We talked about this stuff and he doesn't see it the way I do. But I told him he needs to have a more emotionally measured response to women he meets in business or realtors especially when with me out of respect. He just sees it as talking business. So I ended up taking over communication with her and GUESS what? She definitely does not through e-mail or in person treat me in any kind of emotional, flirty way so I KNOW she is doing this behavior to men. It's like she is eliciting the feeling of emotional, caring, flirty love to men to get the sale. blah.
