Shepherd match?

Wow, I'm surprised it's gotten that full. I suspect that you will get in for PK4 by the time school starts or shortly thereafter - there's usually enough shuffle.

I'm also surprised! Back with the inaugural PK3 class a few years ago, there was one class and only 6 or so IB kids on the waitlist. Goes to show how many kids under 5 are in the neighborhood now.

Well this is awkward since a PP said that an OOB preK 4 was accepted this year. How does that happen?

The PP was wrong, and came back and said that OOB student was actually in 2nd.

Which makes sense, since 12 seats were available for 2nd this year.

Is PK still an obvious in for Shepherd if you're in-bounds and have a sibling? We are looking to move to Colonial Village with a 7 yr old and 2 yr old.

This years data isn't up yet.

It's nearly guaranteed that you'll get in, though it looks like last year there was one IB PK3 with sibling accepted (not enrolled) on the waitlist. If you enroll your (soon to be) 8 year old, you should be good for your 3 year old.

PP here - correction, that must have been a round-2 waitlist. If you look at the acceptance, they took 20 IB kids with no sibling preference. So you're locked in.

Things are changing quickly with all the infants and toddlers in the neighborhood, so it could be different in the next few years, but for right now you're fine.

P.S. Have you found a house yet? TBH, that's the harder part right now! Things go under contract quickly.

FWIW the low end of the waitlist is moving quickly. Started off around 220 and am now up to 130!
