Ignore the people who say to eat sugar.
WTF. You need to drink a lot of bone broth and water. Plain old chicken broth made from bouillon is fine. You can also try putting in a block of frozen ginger in your broth. Snack on hard boiled eggs, with a little butter or olive oil drizzled. Make sure you supplement with magnesium. Best way to supplement is to take Epsom salt baths. it will pass after a few days or a week, depending on how badly you're addicted to sugar. |

pineapple helps! very sweet

Strawberries with chia seeds on top have helped me in the past. The odd texture of the chia made me eat more slowly and enjoy the sweetness of the berries, which took the edge off.
I need to do this again. I’ll be in the same boat tomorrow. I’m pulling for you OP. |

Keep going! You can do it!
The LaCroix fizzy waters are good, or have a few fresh berries. But don't give in -- it's so much easier when you can break your sugar addiction. Fruit tastes so much sweeter now -- if I have a cup of berries it's a huge treat, and I can say no to pie and ice cream. (Which, honestly, I have to, as if I start again....it's a huge slippery slope.) |
Also the Ocean Spray "Light" SPARKLING Cranberry Cocktail ... there isn't any artificial sweetener but they are much sweeter than the other sparkling waters. Drink them with something peanut butter and it tastes like PBJ - very satisfying and cuts my cravings. I have a long-term sugar issue ... I even dream about it sometimes. Last week, the telephone rang and I awoke from a dream about a "pumpkin pie cake;" I was about to enjoy it, but NO. Let us know how it goes, OP! <3 |
| I’m so glad you started this thread. I started two days ago. The easiest for me has been skipping the sugar in my coffee. I still want something sweet after lunch/dinner. Tonight I had half a cookie after dinner so I’ll just take it day by day. |
How does magnesium help? |
| Eat a piece of fruit? I don't cut out sugar entirely, but I frequently just don't have a lot of candy/sweets in my house. When there's nothing with sugar around, fruit often satisfies my craving. |
Fruit also has sugar. I don’t see why people say they are quitting sugar and then still eat fruit. |
They mean added sugar moron |
| Salted nuts, crunchy things. |
Gatorade has some low cal versions that are pretty good. I like the blue kind. |
| I add cinnamon to everything. |

Eh if you're experiencing the low carb flu when you cut out sugar, and fat adaptation is your goal, I don't recommend eating fruit either. Unless we're talking about a handful of berries. Many people overeat fruit, usually in the form of juice or smoothie. |
