My husband doesn’t buy me nice things

Anonymous
DH calls me leaving the office and asks me if I need him to stop anywhere on the way home. He'll go to the post office, the grocery store, the dry cleaners, or pick up dinner. Not FB post worthy, but more valuable and appreciated by me than a piece of jewelry.

It has to be, this is too silly.

I wish my husband would buy me flowers! Your husband sounds fine. I hate when people show off presents. Buy your own gifts.

my husband never buys gifts or write cards but i can buy whatever i want and he treats me like a princess and is the most amazing husband and father That is so much more important to me than showing off jewelry. We go on vacations and have memories those are priceless I know i am the luckiest person in the world to have him by mysids we have been together over 30 years

OP - you are why men end up hating their wives! My husband spends little on gifts for me but he provides so much more. He respects the career choices I've made, he never questions my spending, he values my opinion and thanks to him we live a lifestyle I never imagined when we got married. Plus, he still loves to climb into bed with me!

Send him an email with your wishlist with exact items you want. Done.

omfg Get a life, seriously. If this is the kind of thing you are hung up on, you will NEVER be happy. This is such an insignificant "problem" it's unbelievable you even took the time to write about it.

This sh*t again.

Earn your own money and buy your own stuff.

My DH hates to shop but at the same time I have everything I need and if I don't I buy it. I don't need to flash jewelry at my friends to impress them as the homes we own and the life we lead are pretty darn impressive.

I don't buy my wife nice things.

I love her. I tell her I love her.

I work hard.

We have a single income, $200k, a house in the BCC school district, two kids in preschool and a 40% savings rate.

I don't understand why it makes sense to throw away $$$ on trinkets and baubles.

Sorry this is how I was wired. DW will just need to deal. On the plus side we are never getting foreclosed on!
