| OP, I’m in the same situation as you. I’m planning to change it back. I regret changing it in the first place! |

My children want my maiden name. I hyphenated and people still refer to me by only my maiden name. Even my office email has it! It feels like the world knew the marriage wouldn’t last. I told the children that they can change it when they are 18. I don’t want to deal with their father on this, even though I have full legal and physical custody. The form requires his okay. I could get around it, but it would be costly and put us back in touch. No, thank you. I hyphenated to match my children, whom I chose to give his last name as we were not married when DC1 was born. I should have listened to my parents. The line ends with my father, unless we go through with the change. So, that plays a role too |
| Change it back. My DH’s ex wife still has his name and it’s extremely weird to me, especially now that he’s remarried. |
Threatened much? |
DD wants my maiden name. A friends child used her maiden name and didn’t legally change it until age 18. It was like Robert goes by Bobby and Larlo Smith goes by Larlo Jones |
Er yeah... I kept my name, kids have my name, and if I had changed my name then I'd probably change it back in a divorce, depending on how the divorce went. My ex husband's new squeeze would have exactly zero impact on my decision though. |
Oh please. Give me a break on the "worthy: business. |
