Husband got me a perfume for my birthday

Anonymous
My DH (and DS together) got me a cookbook by one of my favorite recipe writers and a bottle of locally-made bitters, in addition to cooking me dinner and baking a pie (my birthday is 3/14). I thought everything was so heartfelt and thoughtful.

We haven't exchanged gifts in years. I don't need my DH to buy me a present for my birthday. Throughout the year, he shows me how much he loves me by his actions and, sometimes, surprises. We, of course, acknowledge each other's birthdays and, when the kids were small, helped them with gifts, cards and dinner/cake. But, if he bought me perfume for my birthday, I know it'd be because he'd thought I'd like it and wouldn't have bought it for myself.

OP, If you want something, be specific. I would also hate getting perfume. But you either have to love his "try" or tell him exactly what you want.

I'll do one better. If you want something, go out and get it yourself.

A card, maybe a small gift, dinner and sex of my choosing.

Yeah. Why let him waste time and money on crap you don't like? Tell him you'll buy your own stuff from now on. That's what I do. At least I don't have to deal with returning crap.

We don't do gifts either, but I would love this. I would really be interested to see what he chose.

So tell him to choose a perfume for you.

Although...some of the men in my family really do not care about stuff like this, so you'll just end up with whatever popped up on the Macy's website first.

+1000 Perfume is so personal, it was really sweet of your husband to pick a fragrance out for you. It'll be fun to see what he likes for you.

If they haven't bothered to even smell the perfume first, I agree that is not quite the same as a guy who takes the time to find a perfume for his wife.

He probably bought it from TJMaxx! Lol

What does he gets you usually?

So sweet! If you want something specific get it yourself! Be a gracious loving wife

My husband usually gets me a nicer set of workout clothes since I don't tend to make the effort to get nice ones for myself.

Wait was it cheap, stinky perfume or the good stuff?
