UCLA Results?

We were surprised that our OOS son got in only because we heard the UC's were making admissions tougher for East Coast students because the yield is not great when it comes time for enrollment. Anyways, our son is thrilled at the acceptance and will be attending. Would love know if other DMV kids are definitely attending also.

He did have really good essays that discussed his learning in his school and how that intersected with this jobs and planned program of study in college.

that sounds dull

Studying in college is ‘dull’? What do you think the goal of college IS exactly?

No, idiot, the ESSAYS sound dull, the SUBJECT of the ESSAYS. Got it now?

How do you know that your child is the only student who was accepted from a large public high school?

Anonymous wrote:$63,000/year for UCLA. That’s steep. I don’t think I would pay that.

UCLA gives good financial aid/merit packages - not sure that OP is in that boat, but sticker price is not usually actual price.

Actually the truth is the opposite of what you stated. They even pulled need based fin aid for OOS students: http://dailybruin.com/2016/01/29/out-of-state-and-out-of-pocket/

Yes, they did! Not only are they reducing OOS and international students to only 20% of the class, they must pay full freight too.

My DC got in. We are now deciding between UVA and UCLA OOS for both.
