Agreed. This whole thing is utter insanity. We just had a thread complaining that there aren't textbooks in our classrooms. Suddenly we'll find the money for guns, ammo, training and shelters? What the hell is wrong with our country?!?!?

I can promise you that the rest of the world is looking on and thinking that it all must be a joke.

Cool that is hurricane and tornado proof, too. But... how much would this cost? cameras in each room?

The smaller shelters like this are $30,000 each. There are bigger ones roughly the size and shape of classroom trailers which are $40,500 each.

Are we going to have these in offices? Grocery stores? Movie theaters? Nightclubs? Restaurants?

Yep, totally agree.

FFS, this is the only real answer.

Like we get rid of drugs?

Maybe we can laugh at them the next time they scurry around and beg for the USA to save them. Freedom is risky. They are low sper m count.

Um, no. Because then gunman will come in and start fires in the classrooms.

Seriously, we've got to stop grasping around desperately for all these other assinine ideas, when GUN CONTROL is what we need!

+2 And if the windows are bulletproof then we have no chance to get out by breaking it. The answer is better mental health care, better answers for the mentally ill, and better controls on who has access to guns.

I also like the shelter . They aren't too much of an eyesore. Everyone thinks NIMBY until it happens, you cannot put a price on your child's life.

Gim control is not the answer, spending more on identifying kids with emotional baggage is the answer, building stronger families is the answer. How many of these shooters come from broken homes?

You do realize that you cannot get rid of every gun? There is an underworld that eludes all of you. Criminals will always have weapons. Underage kids who want to bring a gun to school will find one, even if you think no one has any. There are also plenty of other ways to kill people. A bomb would kill a lot more kids than a gun. Has anyone ever considered that? You could take out an entire building if you knew what you were doing. You people live in la-la land. Try going out on the streets and spending some time around some of the most dangerous people that you can find. You'll quickly discover that your ideas are nothing but fluff. I have been around people who would walk up and stab you in the heart just because you happen to be standing in their way. I've lived on the other side. Most of you live in a bubble. Chew on that for a while.

My main question is where the hell the money would come from. My middle income district won't buy me aluminum foil for science experiments so I can't imagine they'd buy this. People have no idea just how badly off 95% of all public schools are financially.

It's amazing how many people who support the 2nd amendment think society would devolve into lawless chaos without their precious guns.
