Who will you support for Mayor in 2010?

Fenty, and I'm putting a sign in my yard.

Undecided, but not Fenty, never again.

I never liked Fenty. If you meet him once, you come away with what a smarmy politician he is. Bring back Williams!

Gray if he runs, never Fenty. Each time I see a Fenty sign in a yard I want to pull it (but don't).

Don Peebles might also be an option.

If you are saying that his money will enable a win for him then you are counting the people out as stupid and ignorant. You are saying that his money can buy him votes! I disagree. I believe we have a very knowledgeable body of citizens who know, from the example of the Obama election, that one's vote count. And we will come out in numbers!

Fenty is a lightweight and a media whore but certainly hasnt been shy about some reform movements. why not give him more time to see of his changes show progress? at least he hasnt been afraid to tangle with some of the more corrupt unions in the city.

Fenty is such a disappointment. What's the story with Peebles? Is he viable?

I just saw Vince Gray at a neighborhood meeting, and was quite impressed. But I'm not sure I want to risk having him run and lose, and then we no longer have him as Council Chair.

For the people saying anybody but Fenty I'm just curious as to why you would not vote for him. I wasn't in town yet when he was elected (moved in a month later) but I have to say that I think he's been good. Although it raises a lot of controversy, he's definitely trying to do something about the schools. The DC gov website is pretty responsive. My DH's been around since the Barry years and thinks that the city has improved for the better under Williams and now Fenty. What issues are important to you and how has Fenty let you down? I don't have any comparisons (other than from back home and back home, the motor city, is not so good) and it's helpful to know what other people's views are.

what about Leo Alexander? I met him at a town hall meeting and thought he was great. Sure, he hasn't held an official political title- but he sure has been involved and seems truely invested (with great plans) on ending generational poverty, amongst other things. Fenty needs to stop caring about just the wealthy - there are others in the city that he is pushing out and mistreating.

we can start with the front page of today's washington post. fenty construction contracts called illegal. apparently fenty has been by-passing the legal process and giving plush underhanded lucrative deals to friends of fenty. these contracts are estimated to worth about seventy-two million dollars. the bulk of the contracts provided to his fraternity brother. apparently this fraternity brother did not have a business until shortly after fenty was elected. fenty had tried to award another friend a lottery contract just last year. my recollection on the amount of money the company would have garned had they been allowed to get the contract was worth over ten million dollars. the list just goes on and on and on. i don't want dc to go the route of the motor city.

Also take a look at Fenty's track record for nominating his buddies/associates to local boards many of which have never been acted upon by the council because of lack of qualifications.
