| I would put the tv wherever it is most convenient for everyone to use. |
A) It's 2018 not 1998 B) If there isn't room for a TV, there is definitely no room for this |

We lived in a 1000 sq ft home with 3 people. Not tiny, but not spacious. There was no TV in our main living space, because it was too small. Having the radio on in the kitchen could make it distracting in the living room, much less a television.
Because my husband thought he needed a TV, it went in our bedroom because the door could be closed and it left the (small) living space to be lived in. |

If you have a small house and any room is unused, you are doing something wrong. The loft can be anything at any time.
Get as big a tv as you can. I recommend LG OLED. |

The loft is upstairs. I would like to be able to entertain guests during ball games but it's really not convenient or comfortable to keep going up and down the stairs when you're serving food and drinks. Husband thinks TV will result in messy living room, but the study isn't messy. I doubt living room TV would be used much except when we have guests. Right now, that's not really a possibility.
