| I don't like albert at all. He is so creepy looking and his voice grates on me. Vicotira was also very very homely in real life. |
I loooooooovvvvve Albert. I find him incredibly sexy. Sadly, I think you're right about the real Victoria. I Googled her as a young woman, and she was sort of pretty, but that didn't last. The actress playing her (Jenna Coleman) is gorgeous. |
Agree with everything. |

I love this show, but I found the second season to be kind of odd. I couldn't quite put my finger on what was off even though I still was entertained by the episodes. It almost felt as though they were trying to do too much at once?
I did love the Scottish episode however contrived it may have been. It was just really fun to watch. I also find Albert to be very sexy. Jenna Coleman is stunning. |
You can watch via the PBS app - episodes are available for the 1 week after they air. Many of the apps give you access once you log in with your cable provider's login. What I don't like about the story line with the 2 gay guys is I have a hard time believing others would be so accepting, if they're aware. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think during that time in England they were so nice to gays. And if you look up the history of those 2 characters, there's no basis to that story line. I like it when historical fiction tries to be a bit more accurate. |

I wanted to see more of Lord M. Like another PP, I was wondering if he had died. I know Victoria said "goodbye" to him (a scene which made me cry), but they never actually had his funeral. I guess it's just implied.
Also, does anyone know what the relationship between Lord M and one of Victoria's ladies? She seemed very close to him, but in a platonic way. Was she his sister? I like Ernst, but can't stand the way he talks. Still, he's so charming and sweet. |
| I hated their dishonest treatment of the Irish potato famine. Victoria did very little. England did very little. |
Oh really? That is sad to hear in real life she didn't do much. Did she do anything? Two episodes later it says England did pass something, but by then probably too late. |
Please don't learn history from tv shows glamorizing historical figures: https://mises.org/library/what-caused-irish-potato-famine Yes, there was a potato blight. But it was basically British rule and the pyramid landlord scheme that killed a million people. It was a disaster in the making. |
| The discrimination against Irish Catholics would shock everyone. Most people are unaware. I'm neither Irish nor Catholic but was stunned by what I learned. It wasn't that long ago that they were denied admittance to most universities. |
| I just finished the season last night. Anyone else? |
Yes. It was so-so. |
The pbs app is only for an ipad though. I couldn't get it on my firestick or my samsung smart TV. |

omg...what the hell. There's a second season of this?!!! I watched the first season and loved it but thought that's all it was. I don't want PBS on the regular so never saw commercials or anything for a new season starting.
My husband's going to kill me but I'm about to go binge watch if I can find it anywhere... |
Do you have a link? I'm interested in reading more on this. |
