Would you buy a used car in a color that isn't your favorite?

OP here. It’s kind of hard to find in this specific trim, mileage, price range, etc.)

When I couldn’t afford the luxury of choice, I owned cars I didn’t love. Now that can afford it, I buy the car I want. But it’s your decision for sure.

Honestly? I would buy it in a heartbeat. Your original post said you don't hate it, just that it's not your favorite. Chances are after a week or two you won't care. BUY IT before someone else snatches it up.

The color is forgettable. Doesn’t bother me at all.

Now I would not buy one of those cars that are that awful burnt orange color!

I’d buy it but I like that color. What don’t you like about it?

I just drove a red car for 15 years when I disliked the color. I was not willing to get red again...howvever I did accept silvery blue instead of the deeper blue that I preferred.

You can always get it repainted if the boring color bothers you that much.

It’s certainly not ugly or hard on the eyes. It’s just a bland color.

I currently drive a vehicle I don’t really like because it works for our family and the price was right. But seriously, it is just a vehicle. It gets us where we need to go. My self worth is not tied up in the vehicle I drive.

It's a pretty neutral color. Can you make yourself love the things it does have, enough to make up for the lackluster color? Maybe take some of that $1500 in savings compared to what you expected to pay, and splurge on something you love, like a purse in the color you wish you had? Then when you walk out to the car, you can look at the bag and smile, even as the car makes you sigh.

Black is the only color I buy, but if I couldn't find black and I had to have it, I would go with a different color as long as it wasn't horrid, like lime green or blaze orange, or something crazy like that. Beige would be ok. I wouldn't love it, but hopefully what's under the hood would make up for the color.

If it was in the 3-4 colors I am okay with yes. Otherwise no. It would bother me forever.

Never - I would hate it every day

Funny, I just had a similar experience with a car I wanted. It was also 1500 less than all of the other cars I saw and about 5k miles less as well. Unfortunately it was deal breaker red, so I passed. No regrets, as the car market at my price range, 15k, is pretty plentiful.

It's not terrible, but it's not one of my first choices. I really wanted black or a deep metallic blue but this one is a light metallic beige.

Should this be a dealbreaker? Can't decide if it will bother me in the long term or I'll just get used to it.

Someday you may actually have a genuine problem and you will look back on this and ask yourself if you were really this stupid and shallow,!

Red is my only dealbreaker, and only because of research showing red cars are pulled over / ticketed most often of all colors. Correlation and not causation, but I try to lay low in traffic and red definitely says “look at me.”

This is a silly comment. Not the OP, but I have plenty of problems in my life and I could still see myself asking this question.
