Need recommendations for good tween movie

Common Sense Media is often our first stop for recommendations, although we don't always agree with them:

My tween girl has recently had friends over and they have watched

Parent Trap
The Secret World of Arriety
Hidden Figures
And surprisingly to me, they enjoyed National Velvet a lot!

Can't Buy Me Love is an awesome movie that has held up well, but there are some racy sex scenes that would not be a good choice for 5th and 6th graders, especially in today's post weinstein world.

I would not be happy if you showed that movie to my 11 year old.

We watched Avatar last night and the kids liked it. How about Bend it Like Beckham?

Aquamarine (with young Emma Roberts) -- best movie ever! Age appropriate -- no swearing or sexual scenes.

Another Cinderella Story (with Selena Gomez)

Geek Charming

Wonder....good movie with a lesson.

I second the comment about asking parents if you choose a PG-13 at this age. Parents have very different rules at this age.
