Barbara Comstock has been bought by the NRA

What people need to understand is that the NRA does NOT derive its influence by making campaign contributions. Its influence comes from the fact that its members are very, very loyal one-issue voters.

If you're thinking that $14k in four years is enough to "buy" a congressman, you're laughably naïve.

They were one of her top 50 contributors for the 2016 election.

That district will have a good Democratic option in the midterms. She’s done.

Don't forget, it's a gerrymandered district going out past Winchester all the way to the West Virginia border. Don't take the election for granted, everyone needs to be engaged, vote, don't buy the negative campaigning or lose enthusiasm.

There are no guarantees in this. People love her out there. And their guns.

I really think they must be compensating with the AR-15 though. So much insecurity.

I hope everyone calls her office

The young women i talked to would not comment on ms comstock's opinion on banning ar-15s. But she started reading a press statement that ms comstock is against criminals geting firearms.

Until we can get rid of this bush partisan we need to call everyday

Barbara comstock. 202-225-5136

She is extreme. She is a rich arrogant cheny republican from mclean

Opposes Semi-auto Ban: Opposes any ban on commonly owned semi-automatic firearms used for hunting, recreational shooting and self-defense.

Opposes Ammo Ban: Signed a letter condemning the Obama administration’s flagrant attempt to ban the most popular and widely used rifle ammunition.

I wish more people understood this.

There are several very good dem candidates.

No one is taking this for granted. We know how this is done after the big wins in the state elections last year. And people are fired up in her district. She’s incredibly vulnerable.

Why aren't reasonable gun owners speaking up and fighting for reasonable changes, like background checks, taxing the sh!t out of guns and ammo, and requiring insurance? These are highly sensible, doable things.

They aren't. They're complicit.

"... reasonable changes, like ... taxing the sh!t out of guns and ammo"

Yeah, thanks, Ms Reasonable.

Her first amendment rights weren't stopped, we just taped her mouth shut.

And you can't even spell. You guys have already tried this same thread before and we shot it down. $14,000 is chump change and you know it. Sit in your boiler rooms and churn this stuff out because those in the district know you're being paid to churn this junk out about all Republican candidates up in November. Your rhetoric is the same every time. Next you'll try the Town Hall argument which doesn't work. Then you'll try health care and the thread will die as it always does.

$14,000 is worth about 23 AR-15’s. How many AR-15’s do you think Comstock is worth?

LOL. Paranoid much?

Face it. Her district gets bluer and bluer every day. Her actions are inexcusable. She’s toast.

You don't get $15k from the NRA in 3 years unless you are in lockstep with all their extreme positions-- like allowing people who are incapable of cashing their own social security disability checks to keep their guns.

At the end of the day that's what this comes down to. The NRA has said that any regulation of guns is unreasonable and if you agree with that you should support Comstock and their other candidates.

But if you want to see any effort to stop bump stocks, and teenagers massacring other teenagers in school, then you should find other candidates to support.

The $14,000 figure alone is completely meaningless. What counts is that -

she solicited and accepted the cash;

she votes consistently in accordance with the NRA's instructions to her;

the NRA is among her top-50 donors in the last cycle; and

she has pledged to the NRA her continued obedience.

She is the NRA. She has blood on her hands.
