How many elected officials did you call today?

Barbara comstock. 202-225-5136

Ask her whether she will ban ar15s. The person answering phone will start reciting comstocks statement that she supports preventing criminals have guns. No action. No concern. Another bush partisan

Call tomorrow. Tell her to ban ar15s.

None. I RSVPed for a local Moms Demand Action meeting instead to focus on state efforts as well as national.

Call your elected officials. Start with Comstock

Six. My three reps and my mother's three reps at her request. I am in a blue state so it is preaching to the choir but my mother isn't.

As important as it is today to call, put a reminder on your phone or date book to call every month. It takes three minutes total.

I am in TX and call my reps frequently. They are a lost cause (Cruz, Cornyn; my House rep; and my TX legislature like Abbott — All awful), but I hound them anyway. Usually I call them about specific bills/votes, but I am thinking of just starting to call them every couple days to speak my mind.

You're hounding their staff, not them.

What do you feel their staff is there for, if not to primarily make note of how their constituents feel about the issues? It’s not like I am rude to them.

No, PP is doing the right thing in calling her reps. I applaud her/him. Having worked in A Congressional office, the can you that the calls matter.

I called Ryan's office and actually spoke to a real, live person. I was polite but expressed my anger and she listened and thanked me for calling and said she passed all comments to Congressman. Who knows but I was happy to be able to express my feelings to a person not a recording.

I work with staffers on various issues, and I can tell you they're a facade. Your calls don't matter, sadly. But it this makes you feel more in control, then by all means. I'm not saying you shouldn't call, or that you're rude to them.

I have found the trick is in calling their local offices. For example I often call the state capital office and someone ALWAYS answers, whereas they rarely answer their DC office.

Perhaps that depends on who the politician is. I know for a fact certain politicians make clear their calls from constituents will be tallied, especially with respect to certain high profile legislation.
