I am always skeptical when I hear this. Can you tell me some of the things you've turned away from, and what your current worship practices look like?

I do not celebrate Christmas.
I do not observe Ash Wednesday.
I do not pray to saints.
I do not pray to Virgin Mary.
I do not bow in front of any images.
I do not observe Easter in secular sense, no egg hunting, chocolates, bunnies etc. I observe Passover for Jesus' suffering and resurrection in the context of it, as Jesus observed Passover with his disciples before his death.
I cover my head when praying, as I am a woman.
I pray to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
I do not have pagan items in my home or any items that would offend Jesus Christ.
I do not observe or participate in any practices that would offend Jesus Christ.

What is the point of this thread, exactly? One-upping each other on who’s the most evangelical? Doesn’t seem very Christian—would Jesus approve?

That's great for you. What is the name of your church?

+1 It's a very bizarre thread.

The point of the thread is to discuss Evangelical/Apostolic view on various Christian holidays, as Evangelism is not represented in the forum as much as other forms of Christianity.

Since we're getting technical, there's no mention of a lot of things that they believe in Evangelical/Apostolic/Pentecostal churches, but they do them anyway. I was raised Apostolic/UPC. Trust me, I know. Been there, lived it, ran as far as I could run, now I'm free. Have your debates on what is pagan and what is not, what's in the Bible and what is not. We all know that the denomination I was raised in doesn't believe that any other denomination will be in heaven?. I've heard it preached so many times I could throw up. You're Baptist, so you're going to hell. You're Episcopalian, you're going to hell. You celebrate Christmas, you trim your hair, you paint your nails..... you're all going to hell. It's poison.

Actually, I do not belong to any denomination. I only care about the Bible and in particular the Word of Christ in the New Testament, which I consider the Living Word. I do not care about who will go to Hell nor about seeming competition between dominations. In fact, I will never participate in any domination. I am not interested in teaching of any person, all answers are contained in the Bible. The Bible is the perfect instruction for life. Specifically, I adhere to " "And Jesus answered and said unto them: Take heed that no man deceive you."

Read my post at 6:16. No dominations for me. Bible is enough and knowing Jesus Christ. I abide by Him and walk in Him only:

"As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him." 1 John 2:27

Christian. Bible is my source.

"But every woman who has her head uncovered while praying or prophesying disgraces her head, for she is one and the same as the woman whose head is shaved." 1 Corinthians 11:5

I misspelled. Thank you for pointing out my error.

Why are you on DCUM then? I’d think all parenting questions would be answered in the Bible?
