Yah because the poor kids and their families were doing so well before the workers started moving back into dc |
Same thing |
Wealthier. |
DCPS isn't getting better its entirely gentrification which is causing the rise
Now, DC Charters are getting better dealing with a largely lower non-gentrification black population which is impressive If DCPS was smart they would copy what the charters are doing. |
How would wealthy W3 parents know that the Ballou kids weren't in class? |
Thanks for the data, it was very convincing! |
The only data that charter shills need is that marketing sells. |
Look it up idiots. charters taking lower SES that have been failed by DCPS for DECADES and getting RESULTS |
The scandal came about because teachers did not like the principal. This system is not empowering for teachers, they put up with a principal for a long time who was terrible at her job, and they only option they had was to report her for an infraction. An infraction they probably did not care about at the end of the day. IF she were a good leader they teachers would not have done this. Parents were non the wiser, and if they were they probably would have been grateful for getting their kids to graduate. |
DCPS has a target to improve the lowest 20% of schools - sorry I cannot dig into this right now. But there are more target and data points than the overall system that DCPS thinks about and reports. |
So DCPS is gentrifying but the numbers are small. Outside of the Hill, you have schools going from 0% white or 10% non-FARMS to 10% white and 30% non-FARMS. Those are big changes for a segregated system, no doubt, but they aren't going to dramatically change the math, especially as many of these gentrifying schools have few gentrifiers in 3rd grade, when testing begins. I mean, a class of 80 students at marginal passing/not passing on PARCC adds five high achievers. That's awesome - but it's such a marginal test score uptick. |
You are a terrible person. And a system-wide independent audit proved you wrong to boot. |
The desirable schools are much more than 10% white |
Anyone else find the title of this thread INCREDIBLY racist and offensive?
|
I mean, what do you want? For us not to address white flight reversal and its impact on urban schools? |
