Thoughts on leather backpack?

As a male, and I know this beyond judgmental but I generally associate the with hookers. They want something easy to carry as luggage but not a full suit case while appearing a little high end.

OK... this is weird. I am a mom of 2 and carry a similar leather backpack instead of a purse. I find it convenient to have both hands free and my back hurts less because the weight is evenly distributed

Well, I guess that settles it. Ixnay on the leather backpack.

It matches my favorite coat and shoes perfectly, so I can see myself using it a lot, but I also can’t think of any time I’ve seen other women using something similar. FWIW I am a SAHM and currently carry an ugly canvas backpack 90% of the time because I still need to carry diapers and stuff for my toddler, and hate over the shoulder diaper bags. I think the gifter thought this would be a more refined look with the same practicality. Thoughts?

as in, they're all the same color? if that's the case, it's a no. way too matchy-matchy. or do you mean it's complimentary to them?

This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever read. Also, maybe your wife should get an STD panel!

Where are you coming across all these working girls? I envision more of a late 80s/early 90s dad in a track suit with a S-Curl. The leather backpack gets left at home when the leather fanny pack comes out.

Not something I would seek out to buy, but now that you have it, why not try it out as a replacement for the canvas diaper bag?

No, my coat has zipper pulls in this same color leather. My shoes have this same leasther as well.

I would much rather carry this than a regular diaper bag.

When I saw the title I thought you were talking about one of those silly little purse backpacks like we all carried in high school.

Yours is WAY better. Go for it.

Op here. This is exactly what I keep comparing it to in my mind. And wondering if it seems as dated as those tiny purses from the 90s.

I may be mistaken but aren’t these trendy again?

Yes! Y'all are so old and unfashionable. Op that bag is super ugly. Buy something better for the love of God.

It's not ugly, and I'm sure it's significantly better than the beat up canvas backpack she has been carrying.

Probably not what I'd choose if buying it myself, but I'd use it if a gift. I tend to like accessories from the men's department, anyway. They tend to be sleeker, as long as the scale works for me. I see backpacks more for travel and work than for weekend running around. For weekend bags, I see totes and slings more.
