We did the Wisc b we are also applying to schools. In case AAP didn’t work out.

DC's scores are very similar to yours. I was getting worried about lower verbal scores although DC is an advanced reader and his DRA was one of the best in his class.

My understanding is that on the CogAT, the verbal section for 2nd graders uses pictures, which might have worked to the detriment of some of the children. My daughter is reading grade levels above, and her worst score is verbal, by far.

I'm the PP who brought up the LD, and I only suggested it because I thought you meant that your child was actually below average in verbal and not high average. A 4-5 SD gap between areas of strength and areas of weakness would be concerning. The 2 or so SD gap that your child seems to have just means he's stronger in some areas than others. I wouldn't worry about it.
