Embarrassing truth: totally thought a common abbreviation on here meant something else until now.

Omg I thought the same thing about UMC until reading this!

Different Poster/Double Penatration. Depends on the context.

I'm part of a bunch of queer parenting groups where FTM tends to mean female-to-male not first-time-mom

Why do we need DP? NP serves the same purpose.

Someone told me that and I took their word for it I guess. It would be appalling the way some people would reference their deceased children, so casually like it’s nothing. I figured parents with deceased children probably want a place to talk and Internet forums must be a nice way to connect. It wasn’t until a friend added me to a Facebook Mom group, they had all of the abbreviations explained.

I thought this way for YEARS

I am cracking up reading this. OMG, what did you think when you read "DH does not help with household chores"?

I thought FTW meant f the world.

Like ruling the world.

Like “instant pot FTW” meant instant pot rules. It F’s the world.

For the win. Yeah

I use DP if I've already posted in that thread, but am not the poster that the person I'm responding to is addressing. So I'm a different poster, but not a new one.

+1 Like someone is keeping score and I would get called out for using NP if I was really just a DP!

I think I was the first to use DP.
In the beginning I said: -DP (Different Poster)

I now sometimes say:
-SP (same poster) if I'm adding on to a previous comment. God forbid anyone should think I would be a sock puppet.

Good idea, I like SP for same poster! Although I'm dense and it took one of my teens to explain to me a few months ago what "sock puppet" meant ... sigh.

BFig is not sodomy but breastfeeding.

This is why I don't use abbreviations.

I thought it stood for United Methodist Church, too.
